The Art of Bälans...The Treatment Room Door Corridor Wall Hanging
Walk into the Treatment Room Corridor at Bälans and you will see a Japanese fabric wall hanging called a Noren. The Treatment Room Corridor is lined with a screen of bamboo and the Noren has bamboo leaves and a couple of small birds printed on it.
Noren (暖簾) are traditional Japanese fabric dividers, hung between rooms, on walls, in doorways, or in windows. Joakim had this sent one over from Japan to help give a sense of tranquillity and joyful calm as you walk in for a Treatment. Listen out for the sound of singing birds. Are they singing in Japanese, Swedish or English?
